Why Choose a Home Based Business Over a Traditional Brick & Mortar Business?

Traditional businesses have been around for years & have done a lot of good for many people. However, the rise of the home based industry has given people a lot more choices in life.

Here are the disadvantages of a traditional business:

1. Very high start up costs. Most traditional businesses require hundreds of thousands of dollars before making any money at all.

2. Most traditional businesses can take anywhere up to 4 years to turn over any profit outside the original start up costs. This means being in a pure income after expense position.

3. Most traditional business owners spend anywhere from 60 to 80 hours per week to run their businesses.

4. Commuting to the business is the same as commuting to a job. There will be no escape in the never ending rising fuel costs.

5. Less time with family. If you have to spend 60 – 80 hours per week trading time for income, then how much time is left over after taking care of business? Not much at all.

Here are the main benefits or advantages of having a home based business:

1. Having a thriving home based business can offer you 5, 6 or even a 7 figure income without having to leave your home.

2. Not having to commute to a job or business will give you at least an extra 2 to 3 hours per day.

3. Leverage. You can use the power of team effort to give you more income without putting in extra time. For example: Most home based businesses allow you to earn partial commissions from the sales that your team makes. This is like making money in your sleep.

4. More time with loved ones. Think about it. If you are able to make more money with less effort, then you will have a lot more time on your hands.

5. Living with a lot less stress. When you work from home you escape the stress that comes with following the herd. It is literally escaping the rat race that goes on everyday. Less stress can lead to a happier & healthier lifestyle that could ad years on to your life!

6. Freedom. You have a lot more freedom without having to schedule your life around an employer’s schedule. You can go on vacation when the masses are still at work. You can also save a lot of money by taking advantage of off peak rates or seasons.

7. Gas prices won’t affect you as much because you probably won’t be putting to many miles on the old car anymore.

Well there you have it. Both business models have some advantages & some disadvantages. To help you better decide between the two, you can follow your passion or bliss.

If you like spending a lot of time working in a traditional business & don’t mind commuting, then a traditional business may be a better choice for you.

Now if you dread being away from your family & home for most of the time & feel very passionate about a life or freedom & prosperity, then a home based business would be the better choice for you.

Most people seem to be drawn to the home based industry by the promise of wealth but don’t get started out of fear. Many fear getting into anything that they don’t full understand. Well there is a huge paradigm shift going on in this industry with many people making money a lot quicker than in the ninety’s.

Robert Kiyosaki & Donald Trump dedicated a whole chapter in their book “Why We Want You To Be Rich” to Network Marketing.

Donald Trump has openly said on the David Letterman Show that if he lost his billions he would make a come back by using the Network Marketing Industry (home based).

How to Grow My MLM Opportunity Faster

Many people all over the world now have a home business and are hoping it will bring them the financial security and rewards that they dream about. Unfortunately, the success rate for home based businesses is far lower than it should be because most people quit their business before they ever really start it.

The key to overcoming this common pitfall is to ask yourself, “How can I grow my MLM Opportunity faster?” If you begin with this goal in mind- a fast start- you are ensuring that you will take action NOW, see results SOONER rather than later, and increase your chances of success exponentially.

The first and most important thing to answering your question of “How can I get faster results and help my MLM Opportunity grow?” is to have a plan as soon as possible. That means sit down and write it out- tonight! Without a plan you will be running in circles (think dog chasing his tail) and getting nowhere fast.

With this in mind, I’m going to lay out my basic plan to every home based business that I ever undertake. See if it passes the “How Can I Grow My MLM Opportunity Faster” Test. ( I guarantee it’s faster than the 3 foot rule)

I call it E.S.T.A.L. and it stands for:

E – Educate. Learn about your product/service and company as quickly as possible.

S – Simplify. Cut out all of the fluff and determine the primary benefits of your product/service. Also decide how you are going to work within your company’s system for maximum results & who you are going to target.

T – Test. Test your plan and system on a small scale, and check the results. If they aren’t profitable enough, tweak your system and test it again. Repeat this step until you get a result that meets your requirements.

A – Automate. Create systems that require little or none of your time to continue to carry out the necessary activities. NOTE: In MLM you will always need to be around to help your team until they are fully self sufficient. Therefore, automate as much as possible without losing the personal connection needed to build and lead your team.

L – Leverage. Simply put, do work in such a way that you do the work 1 time, and get paid for it over and over again. Or work such that you do something once and it is able to reach many people. Again ask yourself again, “How can I grow my MLM opportunity faster?” This includes things like doing training videos (instead of live trainings & presentations), teaching & training in large groups, and recruiting in such a way that you don’t have to do all of the ‘repetitious work’ every time.

If you implement the E.S.T.A.L. system into your business, you will reap the rewards of building you business properly, and the answer to the question of ‘How can I grow my MLM opportunity faster’ will become self evident.

Understanding Peaks and Valleys in Your Network Marketing Business

Life is a series of peaks and valleys. Sometimes everything is going great. At other times, success seems to be just out of our reach. This process is the same for everyone. However, you need to be aware when you are in the valley so that you can make changes or learn something new so that you can start climbing towards the next peak as soon as possible. Here are some important things to remember.

1. You can”t climb a smooth mountain – Realize that when you are in the valleys that it is actually a blessing in disguise. If we don”t have those down times then we cannot learn what we need in order to reach the peaks. So when your network marketing business is not working as fast as it should, think to yourself, “What am I suppose to be learning from this?”

2. Don”t be jealous of those on the peak – Instead, use them as resources. Ask them how they got out of the valleys. Remember, it is all the same process. Chances are they had the exact same challenges that you had.

3. Don”t give up – Perhaps the most important thing for you to do is not give up. So many people hit the valley and assume that they will never climb back up. Not true! In fact, the PURPOSE of being in the valley is so that you WILL climb back up.

So remember, just as there are cycles to the seasons, to the stock market, and to your washing machine, there are cycles to your network marketing business. Just don”t give up, learn what you need to learn, make the necessary changes, and reach the peak!

Fill it with all you are

How to Develop Momentum

Take a look at your business today and create a FRESH start to your
business. NOW is the time to take the appropriate action to finally
free yourself and get what you want out of your Network Marketing
business.

Procrastination kills…do it now. Get with it…get busy, get going.
Don’t wait, hesitate, and don’t stop. Begin now. Action equals
results. Results equal money. Money equals freedom, fun and no stress.
More money equals more fun. Anyone who tells you different is either
lying or broke. I’m not saying money buys happiness, but I’ve heard
the only one’s who say money doesn’t buy happiness tend to be
B.R.O.K.E. If you want money and production out of your business, then
follow these guidelines:

90-day plan of action.
Start now with a brand new plan….90 days of flat out, balls to the
wall ACTION. Put away the television, the golf clubs and the
Budweiser. Get up earlier, stay up later, and talk to more people
every single day.

Set BIG Goals. Write down big goals that you want to accomplish and
put specific dates to them. If you have procrastinated in the past,
written down goals and forgotten about them…don’t. This time, do it.
Stick to your responsibilities. Don’t flake on yourself.

Use every product and/or service your company markets. Become the
epitome of “a product of the product”. If you market nutrition and
you’re using Flinstone’s vitamins because they’re cheaper, throw
Barney away and use YOUR product.

Become an expert of your marketing materials and use the best.

Attend EVERY company regional or national event possible. Don’t flake
or make excuses, go, book the airfare and hotel now. Make the
commitment.

Listen to and participate in ALL of your company’s calls, and BRING
PROSPECTS to them. Make the commitment not to attend UNLESS you are
bringing someone. And, since you are now making the commitment to
attend every call, you’ll just have to figure out how to get someone
there. Commit to it. Don’t fail yourself.

Prospect new people every day. When you are out, make the commitment
to meet someone and present the opportunity. Take advantage of the
60-yard rule. Forget the 3-foot rule, some of you are walking too far
away from people so you don’t have to talk to new people. That’s why I
invented the 60-yard rule…anyone within a 60-yard radius is a
candidate. Put your prospecting jersey on and make the 60-yard dash to
talk to strangers whenever you can. So what if they say no…at least
you tried. Don’t let your grave stone say….”Here lies Henry…thought
about doing it but never did.” Wouldn’t you rather it say, “Here lies
Henry, did everything he possibly could, and then some his entire life
to impact as many people as he possibly could with a positive message
about what it’s like to have financial freedom and abundance in their
lives.

Communicate with your upline and downline regularly. Don’t be a
disappearing donut. Call your upline, work with your downline. Be
visible. Communicate and play team. Your upline or downline should
never be saying or even thinking…”Hmmm…I wonder what Sally is up to
these days.” They should know because you are building STRONG
relationships. And, strong relationships revolve around constant
communication.

Be a top performer in your team or company. Make it a point to be
known as a top recruiter, top customer gatherer, or top dog with
whatever it is you are doing. Your team will duplicate what you are
doing and attempt to do whatever they can to keep up. Would you rather
have them keeping up with a slug or a jaguar?

Sign up new people PERSONALLY every month. Forget management, there’s
no money in it. Get into production mode, not overseeing mode. Be the
leader…set the example. Sponsor more people than anyone else around
you. Talk to more people everyday than you thought was possible last
week, last month or last year. Stretch yourself beyond all
limitations.

Develop leaders every 1 to 2 months. Get your new people who are
building the business to STEP UP. Force them into a leadership role.
Get them to host conference calls and to participate in a leadership
role somehow, some way, within your organization. Put the pressure on
them to take on RESPONSIBILITY now.

Be persistent and consistent. Forget about obstacles or distractions
and don’t make excuses. Get over it around it, or under it. Blow it up
if you have to. Obstacles are easy to overcome if you WANT to overcome
them and are COMMITTED to it. Don’t let anything get in your way. You
have a goal in mind and are committed to seeing it through. Don’t let
some ridiculous distraction stop you from getting what you want.
And…whatever you do, don’t blame anyone, anything, or any circumstance
for your failure or success. It’s not the problem with the comp plan,
your sponsor, your product or marketing system. It is up to you. Step
up and take responsibility. The good news is that when you do succeed,
you have only one person to blame, and that’s you. And…I’m sure you
wouldn’t mind blaming yourself for that $20,000 monthly check!

Treat it like a business, not a hobby. Get hot or get out. Don’t be
luke-warm. Don’t be an absentee manager. Show up for work every day
and work like you are leaving for a 6-week European vacation tomorrow.
It’s amazing what we can all get accomplished when we KNOW we are
leaving tomorrow for vacation. Get busy doing Revenue Producing
Activities. If you owned a business that cost you a million to get it,
you would make sure that you did everything possible to make a profit
for fear of losing your million dollars invested. Treat this business
like it cost you a fortune and it will make you a fortune. Treat it
like a hobby and it will cost you a fortune.

Work with those who deserve it. Now that you are DEADLY SERIOUS about
your enterprise, you can only afford to work with serious, committed
people. Forget about the whiners, moaners and complainers. We ALL have
them on our team, it comes with the territory. Work only with serious
committed individuals who have the same goals in mind you do…massive
success. Here’s a good way of determining who the RIGHT ONES are: Are
they calling you for 3-ways? Are they making calls? Are they eager to
learn the business? Are they participating in all training and
recruiting calls? Or…did they disappear after you sponsored them? Do
they procrastinate and say “I haven’t gotten around to reading it
yet?”
Understand what you are marketing. Know the importance and
significance of whatever product or service it is you are marketing.

Celebrate Success. When new people sign up a new customer or
distributor, or reach a higher status level, call them! Congratulate
them and let them know you are proud of them for doing such an awesome
job. Give recognition to all of your people for the things they
accomplish. NEVER EVER ignore the successes of others on your team.
Recognize it and celebrate it together.

When you reach a new level, don’t lay back. Once you’ve achieved a new
level of success in your company, it is time to solidify it, not lay
back and have a Budweiser and wipe your brow. Take it to the next
level. Celebrate your personally achievement and keep moving forward.

Believe in your business and in our industry. Make sure that you live
every day knowing in your heart, mind and soul that you ARE in the
right opportunity and in the right industry. Don’t ever doubt it,
don’t ever waiver or wonder if you did the right thing. The only time
you DON’T do the right thing is when you either don’t get to work or
you quit before your time is due. Network Marketing is a 50+ year old
industry with thousands of people who have become multi-millionaires
working from home. You are part of an incredible industry with
unlimited opportunity. There are people right now in YOUR company that
are seeing huge successes and huge incomes. You ARE in the right
business and you ARE in the right industry. Now all you need to do is
GET to WORK. Remember…it is called Net WORK Marketing!

Is MLM a Scam?

Is MLM a Scam? There are many websites dedicated to calling MLM ( Multi-level Marketing ) a scam. Is it true?

Let’s explore the definition of “scam” From answers.com I found this definition: A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle

Are there some companies that pay a multi-level commission that are fraudulent? Yes. Are there companies that pay a multi-level commission that are legitimate? Yes.

If it is said that MLM is a scam, that means that all MLM is a scam. Blanket statements like that are about as valid as saying all fat people are stupid. Since there is at least one honest company in the world that pays a multi-level commission then by definition MLM is not a scam.

I believe that people who dedicate their lives and energy to ripping apart multi-level marketing are those who have gotten hurt and are seeking revenge. You don’t find many successful MLM distributors that are ripping on MLM. Those that rip on MLM are those that failed. Plain and simple. They are trying to warn the world that MLM is a scam, but what they are really projecting is “Hey look, I failed at network marketing and I’m blaming everyone else” Further they imply “and I don’t want you to try because if you succeed I’ll look like an idiot”.

Entire sites are dedicated to warning people about the dangers of Amway. That’s the biggest MLM company and the biggest target. While it’s true that many distributors hype the chances of success, you can’t fault the company or say MLM doesn’t work. There are too many Amway millionaires to discount it. Amway has made its founders billionaires and they are in business today and as healthy as ever. Scams don’t get that big or last that long.

Anyone who calls MLM a scam is a loser, plain and simple. How’s that for a blanket statement? Intelligent people after failing at MLM would say ” I didn’t have the skills needed to make it work” or , “truthfully I didn’t put in my best effort” or even “that company didn’t have the right program”.

Next time you see a site calling MLM a scam, or someone spouting their view that all MLM is a scam, you are seeing a failure in action.

Tips For Working From Home

Working from home is become more and more popular in the past few years. More people are getting tired of having to wake up early and make a long commute to a job they hate and working for a person or a company they don’t want to work for. One of the best advantages to working from home on your own home business is that you can wake up whenever you want or need to and the commute is a long as it takes for you to walk to your home office. However it can be easy to get distracted when you are working from home so here are a few tips to keep in mind.

It’s critical that you become involved in all aspects of your home business and become informed in the areas that you are unfamiliar with. This includes starting from the very idea on what you want your business to be about, to the creation of the service or the product all the way to the end when the product or service reaches the customer. If you delegate things to other people, it can be easy to get manipulated into doing something that you end up not liking, so knowing what is going on in all aspects of the business is very important.

Exploration is a great thing. I know it can seem a little bit scary, especially if your home business is the only thing contributing to your income. However a business should be about doing new things. The world is moving at a rapid pace and people get bored with seeing the same things over and over again and experimentation of ideas and products could be very beneficial and give you a step up above your competitors.

The biggest thing you need to be informed about when owning and operation a home business is the Internet. It is the most powerful tool you can have when working from home. The Internet is the best place to inform people about what your business has to offer and there are several ways to not only inform people but also make money with different types of programs like advertising and affiliation. Having a website is one of the best ways to tackle all of these things, and you can either make it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. The bottom line is that any business needs to have an online presence.

MLM Training Tips

MLM is short for multi-level marketing and is also known as network marketing. It is basically a business distribution model that allows a parent marketing company to market their products directly to consumers by means of relationship referral and direct selling, hence “multi-level.” MLM training is useful for people starting out in the network marketing world. Although it is sometimes difficult to distinguish legal and reputable MLM from illegal pyramid schemes, the most legitimate MLM companies will have commissions that are earned only on sales of the company’s products or services.

No money may be earned from recruiting alone (“sign-up fees”), though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements. If participants are paid primarily from money received from new recruits, or if they are required to buy more product than they are likely to sell, then the company is a pyramid, which is illegal in most countries. Below are some MLM training tips and benefits of network marketing.

When deciding on a company to distribute for, always ask yourself, “Would I still consume these products/services if there was not an opportunity to market them?” Do these products bring any benefits to a consumer besides the opportunity to make money under an MLM affiliate program?” and “Would I bring “value” to my customers if they consume these products?”

If there is one thing to take from traditional business it is that every business needs repeat customers, even an MLM program. Distributors only get paid when they find consumers of their products, and when these customers continue that consumption then they create that residual income.

There is no cap on how much money you can generate. In corporate jobs the big limitation is that regardless how hard you work, the income is tied to a “market standard” for someone with your skills. You could never be allowed to make more money than your immediate boss. In MLM, it is up to you to decide how much you want to earn. The skill set is key, because once you have some MLM training, you can market anything you choose and generate that income you seek.

Other benefits include no employees to hire, no inventory, low operating costs, and, with some more MLM training, the attainable freedom that is possible. Imagine having a productive business in network marketing that provides you with a lifestyle that only the rich and famous enjoy. The life of a marketer can be very fulfilling indeed, and that’s the dream every new distributor chases, but it is only attainable when there is a clear understanding of how to get there and when your skills are sharp.
